Bring us your tween and teen Sorcerers, Elves, Halflings, Ogres and magical creatures of all kinds yet to be imagined for a week of creative, social and collaborative fun!

Under the leadership of Adam Bailey and with the skilled Dungeon Mastery of Roseneath’s popular Youth Leaders and volunteers (Aidan, Tristan M.O., Colin and Elton) we are delighted to offer a specialty Dungeons and Dragons/fantasy role playing game camp. We will fuse our mad skills in drama and arts education with the imagination, creativity and face to face collaboration of the fantasy role playing game, Dungeons and Dragons.

The camp will provide an immersive experience where players new to the game can learn and practice and experienced players can indulge in long, extravagant campaigns or try their hand at apprenticing with our experienced Dungeon Masters.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THIS CAMP?
Our awesome Dungeon Masters are ready to lead campers through an amazing campaign full of adventure, fun and adversity. Actual table top game play will occur usually in two sessions each day, one in morning, one in afternoon. Each day will also include some outdoor time, meal break, optional art and crafting related to characters, magic items and design of the world in which the campaign occurs and some other fun drama and improv around the D&D characters and world. The first day will be devoted to ice breaker activities, creating characters and connecting with your party and DM. Assure your kids there will be lots of game play, but be assured as parents there will be physical activity and opportunities to socialize and collaborate with all campers, not just your party. No camper need feel apprehensive about any of the activities listed above. We acknowledge and celebrate the differences in personalities and no one is ever pressured to do anything. We will encourage and support participation, but every person gets to participate on their own terms.

WHAT AGES CAN PARTICIPATE?

We have provided an age recommendation of 10-14, HOWEVER this is only a guideline and we are happy to make age exceptions on a case by case basis, provided we are certain the child or youth involved is keen and excited to engage in the play. Our campers/players have ranged in age from 7-16 with amazing success. Contact us directly to request an age exception or discuss any concerns.

WHAT IS DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS?
For the adults who don’t know anything about the game, D&D is a table top role playing game which assigns each player a specific character to play. These characters embark upon imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting. A Dungeon Master serves as the game’s referee and storyteller while maintaining the setting in which the adventures occur, and playing the role of the inhabitants. The characters form a party that interacts with the setting’s inhabitants, and each other. Together they solve dilemmas, engage in battles, and gather treasure and knowledge. In the process the characters earn experience points in order to rise in levels, and become increasingly powerful over a series of sessions. (read more about the game)
