Under the leadership of Roseneath’s ever-popular drama educator, Brittany Kay and with the skilled Dungeon Mastery of Roseneath’s Youth Leaders (Aidan, Tristan M.O. and Tristan A.), we are delighted to offer a specialty Dungeons and Dragons/fantasy role playing game camp. We will fuse our mad skills in drama and arts education with the imagination, creativity and face to face collaboration of fantasy role playing games.

The camp will provide an immersive experience where players new to the game can learn and practice and experienced players can indulge in long, extravagant campaigns or try their hand at apprenticing with our experienced Dungeon Masters.

Much of the course of the week will follow and build naturally from the interests and ideas of our campers and Dungeon Masters day to day. However, we are anticipating an immersive week of:

What is Dungeons and Dragons?

D&D is a table top role playing game which assigns each player a specific character to play. These characters embark upon imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting. A Dungeon Master serves as the game’s referee and storyteller while maintaining the setting in which the adventures occur, and playing the role of the inhabitants. The characters form a party that interacts with the setting’s inhabitants, and each other. Together they solve dilemmas, engage in battles, and gather treasure and knowledge. In the process the characters earn experience points in order to rise in levels, and become increasingly powerful over a series of sessions. (read more about the game)
