Silvia recently left her home country, Venezuela, due to the increasing crisis that is currently taking place there. She immigrated to Canada accompanied by her husband with the hopes of a better future for herself and her family. Even though her time in Canada has been brief she considers this Country her new home, a place where she has found safety, freedom and marvellous people who encourage her to move toward her dreams and to live a life without fear and full of happiness. In Venezuela, she worked in various positions including stewardess, accounting assistant, administrator and she also managed her own business, which gave her the required knowledge and experience to accomplish the duties and daily tasks that are her responsibility as part of the Roseneath team. She loves learning new things and desires to continue studying.
Roseneath Theatre is her first job experience in Canada, and it’s also her first experience in the Arts world, which she considers fun and fulfilling, she feels proud of being part of a team that can reach so many children, raising their awareness about the diversity of today’s society, sowing seeds of consciousness to have a more humane and sensitive world for our future. Silvia identifies with Roca, the main character of “La Maleta (The Suitcase)” because this story is very close to the reality she experienced in her own journey from Venezuela to Canada.
Regarding her personal life, she is happily married and loves spending leisure time with her husband, she also loves doing handcrafts and making desserts. She loves animals and misses her family so much especially her cat Sophie the one she hopes to hug again someday soon.
